Growing up as a huge tom boy, I went through some pretty awkward and embarrassing moments in regards to beauty, health and relationships.
I'll always remember burning my nose with toothpaste trying to get rid of a pimple and walking around with a black scab about 2 inches wide for over a month when I first started High School. Since it was a new school, everyone thought it was a birthmark and never asked me about it, until it mysteriously disappeared...
Or the constant battles with my big, puffy, frizzy hair.
If it exists, I've probably done it to my hair... the weird hairstyles I used to concoct, the pounds of creams, waxes and conditioners and the awkward moments of having someone grab my hair and it being solid as a rock.
Point is, through my experiences, I've learned a lot, what doesn't work but most importantly, what does!
I'm also a nerd when it comes to cosmetic science and love to read up on the latest innovations and research. Applying what science has found to be most effective, some common sense and practicality is my ultimate goal when it comes to beauty, health and life in general.
It is my greatest wish that I keep you from those awkward moments. In theory, I'd like to think I'm talking to my 13 year old self, telling her what I've learned and keeping her from wasting a lot of money. Because I've done that too.
I hope you enjoy reading and I look forward to getting to know you!

“The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, the education, the money, than circumstances, than failure, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company, a church, a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past, we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it. And so it is with you... we are in charge of our Attitudes.”
